Atlantic City Silver Strikes

Welcome to the new addition to ACCHIPS website. Yes; I also collect silver strikes as well as casino chips. I am grateful to Dennis Garnier for his expertise in putting this section of my website together for the silver strike collector. It is the only website I know of that offers a comprehensive illustrated reference catalog of every Atlantic City silver strike that has been produced.

As most Atlantic City silver strike collectors know, there are no more silver strike machines to be found in A.C. for the past several years. The only Atlantic City silver strikes that are available are in the hands of collectors and dealers and some of them are quite rare … such as the
$20 Space Series from Trump Marina.

Because of the high volatility of constant changes in the daily melt price of silver, it is very difficult to maintain a stable retail price list of individual silver strikes except to say as of this writing, (late 2011) silver is currently trading at well over $33 an ounce. $10 silver strikes each contain .5 to .6 ounces of .999 fine silver, so do the math for common strikes. Tougher to find silver strikes command much higher premiums above silver melt value. Generally speaking, Atlantic City silver strikes sell at higher prices than do common Las Vegas strikes. Having said that, there is a much larger demand for Las Vegas strikes than exists for A.C. strikes so more strikes were made for the Las Vegas market. To determine 24/7 melt value on .999 silver, here is a handy reference site; http://www.kitco.com/charts/livesilver.html
